SELKIE ist ein ca. 6-minütiges, dreiteiliges Chorwerk für 6-stimmigen Frauenchor
(Sopran I, Sopran II, Mezzosopran I, Mezzosopran II, Alt I, Alt II).
Das Werk entstand Anfang 2025 und wurde beim internationalen Kompositionswettbewerb
„Females Featured II“ in der Kategorie Women’s Vocal Ensemble mit dem 2. Preis ausgezeichnet.
Inhaltlich ist SELKIE inspiriert von alten Märchen und archetypischen Motiven rund um Erinnerung, innere Natur und Rückverbindung.
Das Stück richtet sich an Frauenchöre und eignet sich auch für ambitionierte Laien- und semiprofessionelle Ensembles.

SELKIE – Choral Work (PDF Download)

SELKIE is a contemporary choral work of approximately 6 minutes for
6-part women’s choir
(S1, S2, MzS1, MzS2, A1, A2).
Composed in early 2025, the piece received Second Prize at the international composition competition
“Females Featured II” in the category Women’s Vocal Ensemble.
The work is inspired by traditional fairy tales and archetypal motifs related to memory, inner nature and reconnection.
SELKIE is written for women’s choir and can also be performed by advanced amateur and semi-professional ensembles.
